Ark is a popular Bangladeshi rock band.

The band became popular during the late 1990s with their vocals Ashikuzzaman Tulu, and composer Pancham. Several musicians including Ashikuzzaman Tulu and Pancham formed Ark back in 1991. Hasan joined Ark in 1993. However, Tulu went abroad, the band changed its name into Swadhinata in 2003. The newly reinformed band is also expected to release a new music album soon.
The band shot to fame with the release of a number of songs including `Akaki`, `Eto Kosto Keno Valobasay`(Prince Mahmud Feat Hasan). Which is one of the most popular songs of Hasan. And Swadhinata in albums `Tajmahal`, `Janmavhumi` and `Swadhinata`. Later some of the members including Hasan left the band and formed a new band named Jonmovhumi. But they didn’t go so far.
In 2011, Hasan back his former band and Ark inform their presence in a concert took place in Dhanmondi Kalabagan Cricket Ground where also performed Miles, Prometheus, Mila and another solo singers. Ashikuzzaman tulu and Hasan performed their popular songs and overwhelm the beholders.
`Ashikuzzaman Tulu wanted to reform the band for many days as he founded the band. I started my career from this band, we felt that we should reform the band,`- Hasan.

He feels that our new generation music lovers have got confused listing to un-original songs nowadays. They want to bring music lovers back to originals songs.
`We want to present our listeners with melodious songs with good message. We must give emphasis on the touchy impression in those as we used to do in the past albums,` said Hasan, pointing out that they will likely change some singing styles to draw attention to the new generation listeners. Most of the songs in the new album will be written and tuned by Hasan.
As a number of music houses in the country have long been counting loses due the piracy of albums and the opportunity of downloading songs from internet free of cost, it will also be a tough task for a band for survival.
However, ARK performing in different music programs in private television channel.

Faruk Mahfuj Anam, known simply as James is a Bangladeshi singer, guitarist and composer. He is the lead guitarist and vocal of the band Nogor Baul, which was formerly known as "Feelings". James was born in Nagaon, grew up in Chittagong, and then moved to Dhaka for his musical career.
Stylishly longhaired James - overwhelmingly known as Nagar Baul(The City Bard), was the pioneer of psychedelic rock music Bangladesh. But diversity encompasses different genres of rock music and blues music. Originally a singer and guitarist, who has always been respected for his solo projects, His presence in rock music has spread; its impact on the next by successive generations has been profound. Something new was there, the audience could feel. He was affectionately called by his countless fans Guru. His melodies were brilliant and his singing a departure from the archetypal tunes preferred by the directors of a commercial nature. His songs express the social aspects of nature, love, anger, dissatisfaction, frustration and joy.
 
James entered the Bollywood Bheegi Bheegi with the inspiration of "Prithibi" from the movie Gangster `Moheener Ghoraguli’.
He participated in Bollywood again with another song for another film. His latest album is Tufan(2006) and Kaal Jomuna(2007). James also has a famous production house, with Ghazi Ahmed Shuvro called "Red Dot", the well and after doing an amazing job "Rock Star D 2" became known and loved any amount in some mobile phone companies. James recently performed as a model for a long time in a soft drink advertising.
 
He rose to international fame with 'Bheegi Bheegi' his song hindi, for fiscal 2006 Bollywood blockbuster gangster who wrote Hindi B4U Top Chart song up again for four weeks and has toured internationally with his band Nagar Baul. He is considered a pioneer of psychedelic rock in Bangladesh.

Nova is psychedelic, progressive and hard rock band of Bangladesh.

Formed in 1986 in Dhaka.

 
For their psychedelic and progressive compositions, thoughtful lyrics, sonic experimentation, album art and live shows, Nova is one of the most successful acts in rock, of having sold millions of albums in the Bangladesh and aboard.

Ahmed Fazal Karim was born on 9 May 1966, in Puran Dhaka. As lead guitarist and lead vocalist of Nova, he is regarded by many as one of the most influential guitarists of the rock stage. To "Thikana," Fazal wrote and composed his own songs. Fazal made up for it by some excellent guitar work and production work on these albums. He is also the main lyricist and composer of Nova.

Feedback is one of the most popular musical bands in Bangladesh

-formed in 4th October, 1976.

History:
Their first appearance was in The Hotel Inter-continental now Sheraton, Dhaka, 11th October 1976. Their first recorded song was `Aye Din Chiro Din Robey` in 1980 and it was a hit songs. Feedback released their first album Feedback and then Sragam Acoustics. Feedback absolutely ruled the `80s era with their album Ullash and Mela. Everywhere one would hear Maqsoodul Haq`s immortal refrain: ``Bashonti rong shari pore lolonara hete jay``.

After that Feedback started performing their popular songs in concerts. Their remarkable concerts were Shilpakala Academy 25th September1979, Dhaka University 16th December 1990, Nicco Park Kolkata 26th January 1992, Jadabpur Uneversity 12th July 1994.
In 1995, first band to be awarded in Bangladesh as the best band for their album `Jai Jai Din`. They have some popular songs like Aye Din Chirodin Robey, Ak Jhak Projapoti, Jhau Bonay, Udashi, Moushumi 1 & 2, Kemon Korey Hai, Janala, Majhi, Mela, Bidrohi, Geetikobita 1 & 2, Abar Mela.


In 1996, Lead Vocal Maqsoodul Haq left the band and formed a new band Maqsood O’ Dhaka in 1997.

is a Bangladeshi band, which was started in 1991 by guitarist Ayub Bachchu.
Bachchu was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh. He started his music career with a band called Feelings. Then Bachchu spent ten years with a band called Souls(1972), which was one of the first Bangladeshi rock bands. At Souls Bachchu played a key role in writing songs and having they performed. Bachchu joined the Souls band as lead guitarist in 1976 and left the band in 1991 to start LRB. Through the years of proceeding a number of drummers came to share their visions with the band.
Band Group
The original band members of LRB were Ayub Bachchu(Vocals and Lead Guitar), Saidul Hasan Swapan(Bass), Shahidul Islam Tutul(Keyboard and backup Vocals), Joy(Drums and backup Vocals). The band members changed several times. Shamim Ahmed(Guitarist) currently is the band manager. M H A Joy-5 April 1991, 8 June 1993 Milton Akbar, 31 January 1994 Riyadh joined with LRB. Mid of April 1994, Sumon played for 2 years, during Riyad’s suspension period from LRB. Romel still playing.
Music and Tours
LRB released their first double album in 1992 and has released 10 albums through year end 2007. Also Ayub Bachchu has recorded six solo albums. LRB is the only band in Bangladesh to have the credit of releasing an two double album among which one was their debut album. LRB has also got the credit of releasing an unplugged album `Ferrari Mon` for the first time in Bangladesh. Music and Lyrics LRB`s top hits in Bangladesh. LRB prefers not to focus on one issue because they want to relate to a wide audience, from the older generation to teenagers. Recently, LRB composed two songs in English; the two songs are ``Hold On`` and ``Look at Me``.
LRB has performed over 1,500 gigs that have included extensive performances in Bangladesh as well as tours in Asia, Europe and the Unites States. Their first show outside country was held in India in 1997 at Jadavpur University, where LRB was to perform. But they organizer was little bit doubtful about the quality of the band. After their performance they request LRB to act as a judge which Ayub Bachchu agreed to comply with. In 1998, the group also played in Qatar, Abudhabi, Japan, Germany, Austria and Italy. The group played a second tour in the Unites States in 2000. The group had a European tour in 2002, which included Austria, United Kingdom and Australia.
From 2003 to 2006, LRB performed twice in Italy and Belgium. They also performed in many cities in India as well as Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong and Wembley Arena in London. They also performed in Wimbledon Stadium in London, Madison Square Garden in New York City twice and Ellyn Garden in the United Kingdom. LRB is still now playing very well.
Musical Approach
LRB uses many of the musical techniques pioneered by earlier western bands. For example, LRB uses phasing and polyrhythm’s where the same part is played by more than one instrument, either out of or in phase, in order to provide greater musical variety. Ayub Bachchu is an expert guitarist ahd has used many rock and roll techniques with his guitar such as legato, two-handed tapping, sweep-picking, volume swells, and harmonics, extreme whammy effects. However, the band does not use electric keyboard.

Miles is a popular rock band and leading band in Bangladesh.

It is one of the oldest bands in Bangladesh.

Musical Style
Miles describe themselves as a pop rock act. ``we have been inspired by Blues, Latin, Jazz, Rock and Techno Music``, says Manam Ahmed. ``So our music is a combination of varied sounds and styles``.

Early Years (1978-1981)
Miles was formed in August, 1978. Farid Rashid (Bass & Vocals) formed the band with Ishtiak(Lead Guitar), Larry Burnaby(Lead Guitar), Mussa(Guitar), Shahedul Huda (Drums) and Happy Akhand (Keyboard & Vocal). Robin(Keyboard & Vocal)replaced on Happy. In 1981 Kamal Mainuddin(Drums) joined after Shahedul went to a foreign country. After three months later, Hamin Ahmed and Shafin Ahmed joined the band. Manam Ahmed also joined after six months later. For the first three years, Miles performed regularly at Chameli Super Club of Hotel InterContinental (now Sheraton). Their first two albums were in English.

Miles and A Step Further (1982-1990)
They made their first public appearance on Bangladesh Television and performed their first live show in Shilpakala Academy premises in front of an audience of 1,500, in 1982. In the same year, they brought out their first album- Miles. The album was in English and contained 3 original songs and 7 covers.
From 1983 to 1990, Miles played at the Sonargaon Pan Pacific Hotel and coffee shop in Dhaka for six nights a week. In 1986, they released their second album, A Step Further, which was also in English with 7 original and 3 cover songs. During this time, they also performed many solo and joint concerts.

Protisruti and Prottasha (1991-1993)
Mies released their first Bengali album-Protisruti, in 1991. This album contained 12 original songs. This album launched the band to unprecedented popularity with a number of hit songs. The next year, they performed their first and solo concert outside of Bangladesh in Bangalore, India. They performed three hours of English Rock Music before an audience of 7,000.
In 1993, Miles released their fourth album titled Prottasha. There was 12 original songs, enjoyed record-breaking sales, with approximately 300,000 copies selling within few months, and is still the best selling album by a Bangladeshi band. This led to many TV appearance and one year sponsorship agreement with a multi-national company.

Best of Miles (1994-1995)
In 1994, Disco Recording, a Los Angeles based recording company, released a compilation CD, titled Best of Miles. This was the first CD by a Bangladeshi band and is still the highest selling CD in Bangladesh. They next performed their second concert in India. Again a three hour rock concert of English music, in Chandigarh in front of 5,000 audience. The concert received high press coverage in India.
Miles also performed two concerts in Persian Gulf States of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Channel V and MTB Asia covered their concert and tour news.

Prottoy and Proyash (1996-1998)
Miles performed in India for the third time. It was in Kolkata and mostly Bengali songs were played in the two and half-hour concert in front of 7,000 audiences.
Prottoy, the band’s fifth album, came out later that year with 11 original songs. The album sold high in Bangladesh, giving Miles their third consecutive hit. Then they went on a two month tour of USA and Canada. They performed in New York, Dallas, Oklahoma, Chicago, Florida and Montreal to audineces of 2,500.
During 1997, Miles’s songs received increased airplay on Indian FM radio and the band released their 4th album, Proyash. BBC later aired a number of Miles’s interviews and popular songs. Also Miles’s interview was published in Janomot, a Bengali newspaper from London.
The band performed in many charity concerts and throughout 1998, Miles again performed in Kolkata and made a number of music videos that were aired on satellite TV channels including MTV. Miles relaesed a compilation album in India titled Best of Miles (Vol. 1). The perennial seller received huge radio airplay. And six months later, the band released a second compilation album, Best of Miles (Vol. 2), in India. The two albums received great reviews in the local press and Miles became well known to the young generation of West Bengal, India.

Probaho and Protiddhoni (1999-2006)
Miles published another album named Probaho in 1999. At this time, Miles performed their largest concert in Chittagong Division Stadium in front of an audience of 35,000. the same year Miles added another guitarist, Iqbal Asif Jewel, to their line-up. They also performed the highest number of concerts in India by taking part in a concert held at Shibpur Engineering College, making it five performances. In 2006, after almost ten years, Miles released an album, titled Protiddhoni. 

Their latest musical effort was Protichobi, released in 2012.
